Privacy Notice
Last updated 26 September 2026 · version 2026-09-26
This notice explains, in plain language, what personal data Eternup collects, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is written for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), and follows the same principles as the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Who we are
Eternup is a personal and work organiser with an AI assistant, Aeon. For the personal data you give us, Eternup is the data fiduciary (in GDPR terms, the controller): we decide why and how it is processed, and we are responsible for it.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We use them to create and secure your account.
- What you enter. Tasks, goals, plans, notes, captures, documents and files you upload, messages you send to Aeon, and the settings you choose.
- Connected Google data — only when you connect it. If you choose to connect a Google service (for example Calendar, Gmail or Drive), we read the data that connection is for, within the permissions you grant. You can disconnect at any time, and we then stop reading it.
- Usage analytics. With PostHog we record anonymous product events — for example “a task was created” or “a page was opened” — so we can see which parts of Eternup are used. These events never include what you wrote (no task titles, messages or file contents) and never your email; you are identified to PostHog only by a one-way scrambled code. This is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy. We also send nothing if your browser asks sites not to track you.
- Error reports. When something breaks, Sentry receives a technical report — what failed, where, and your internal account number — so we can fix it. We strip request bodies and cookies from these reports.
- Basic technical data. Such as your browser type and a coarse device description, used for security and to keep the service working.
Why we use it
- To provide Eternup: store and show your data, sync it across your devices, and run the features you use.
- To answer you through Aeon: your message and the context it needs are sent to our AI provider to produce a reply.
- To keep your account secure and to prevent abuse.
- To understand and improve the product (anonymous analytics, if you leave it on) and to fix errors.
- To contact you about your account or about changes to these documents.
We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you continue past the first-run screen, and which you can withdraw at any time (see “Your rights”). We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We use these service providers (data processors), each only for the purpose listed:
- Anthropic — the AI model behind Aeon.
- Neon — the database that stores your account and data.
- Vercel — hosting of the application.
- Google — sign-in, and the Google connectors you choose to use.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage for backups and the files you upload.
- Sentry — error reporting.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
- Our email provider — to send you account and notification emails.
Some of these providers process data outside India. Where they do, we rely on their contractual commitments to protect it, and we transfer data only to places the law allows.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you erase your account we delete your data from the live database straight away, and it then ages out of our backups on their normal rotation. Some records are kept longer only where the law requires it or to resolve a dispute, and then only for as long as needed. Analytics and error reports are kept for a limited period and then deleted by the providers on their standard schedules.
Your rights
- Access and a copy. Download everything we hold for your account from Settings → Backup → Download the server copy.
- Correction. Edit your data directly in the app, or ask us to correct anything you cannot.
- Erasure. Delete your account and its data from Settings → Backup → Erase everything on the server.
- Withdraw consent. Turn analytics off in Settings → Privacy, disconnect a Google connector, or erase your account. Withdrawing does not affect what was lawfully done before.
- Grievance redressal. Complain to our Grievance Officer (below). If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nominate. You may nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to. Write to the Grievance Officer to do so.

Children
Eternup is not intended for anyone under 18. Please do not use it if you are under 18.
Security
Your data is sent over encrypted connections, each account's data is isolated from every other account at the database level, and access is limited to what the service needs. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will update the date and version above and tell you before the change takes effect.
